Any student needing Community Service hours please consider the following opportunity:  WALKTOBER is a month-long campaign that encourages our community to be more active by walking regularly. This push is led by the River’s Way Walking Club, a group of young adults with differing abilities that are highly involved with River’s Way programs. Participating and helping support other participants can be used for community service hours. The event will be held at the THS track on Saturday, October 22 starting at 9:30 am. There will be games, refreshments and more. Students who are interested in participating please contact Matt Kyle at [email protected] -or- (423)-715-0085 for any questions surrounding the event.

Reminder of important dates for Seniors--
1. Monday, October 24^th from 10am - 1pm Northeast State will be here to help students with applications and to answer questions!
2. The TN Promise Application is due on November 1st!  Students are automatically disqualified if they do not apply by this date. and that is sad 🙁
3. November 17^th is FAFSA Help Night -- details to come!

New Beta Members: You have been added to a Canvas group. Please check the group for announcements about the ceremony and when we will practice. If you are a new member and haven’t been added to the Canvas group, please contact Ms. Silvers or Mrs. Sauceman.

The Beta/National Honor Society Induction Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 7 pm in the auditorium. New members of both clubs should meet in the chorus room for club pictures at 6 pm.

Rachel’s Challenge Club (also called Friends of Rachel) emphasizes kindness and school-wide encouragement.  Anyone can join. See Mrs. Sutherland and sign up outside her door 3414 to be in the club. We will meet for five consecutive Fridays during homeroom: Oct. 21, 28, and November 4, 11, 18.   No meetings occur in December.  Rachel’s Challenge Club meetings will resume January 27, Feb. 3, 10, 24. No meetings occur March or May.

Josten’s will be returning to THS next Thursday, October 20 to take senior cap and gown orders during all three lunches.  Please make all senior aware of this in your classes.

Junior Court photos will be Oct. 21.  Members should join the Remind group – text @37eda67 to 81010. Friday, Oct. 21, is also club photo day. 

FCA meets on Fridays in the auditorium right after school.  All are welcome.

First Priority meeFts EVERY TUESDAY of the school year in wellness room 2445. All are welcome. Mrs. Sutherland (room 3414) is the first Priority faculty sponsor.

ACT Boot Camp will occur from 3 – 5 pm in the Wellness room 2447 on the following dates: Thursday, October 13, Monday, October 17, Wednesday, October 19, Thursday, October 20. All are welcome.

Go to act.org to sign up and pay for national Saturday ACT exams on these dates:  October 22, December 10, February 11, April 15, June 10, and July 15.  You can sign up for ALL of them, ONE test, or SEVERAL.  Get studying for the ACT!
