Mary Johnson
Head Coach


Coach Mary Johnson is back to lead the Lady Viking Volleyball Program this year. This is Coach J’s 12th year as the Head Volleyball Coach at THS. She came to Tennessee High in 2005 after a successful eight year stint as the head coach at her alma mater, Abingdon High School. She has coached many successful teams and players during her time at THS and has been named Conference Coach of the Year on multiple occasions. Last season, she led the Lady Vikings to the District, Regional, and Substate Championships and a berth in the TSSAA State Tournament for the first time since 2001.

 

Coach Johnson is a graduate of Abingdon High School, where she played multiple sports. She got her Bachelor’s degree from Emory and Henry College, where she also played volleyball. Coach Johnson teaches Physical Education at THS and is fired up to coach this group of Lady Vikings.



Charlie Tiller
Varsity Assistant Coach

Coach Charlie Tiller is pleased to be a part of the Lady Viking Volleyball staff again this year as a varsity assistant. Coach Tiller previously coached the freshman team in 2005 but has also been around the program for many years as the public address announcer. Coach Tiller has also coached girls' basketball and softball at Tennessee High for the last 14 years. Coach Tiller is aa graduate of THS and ETSU and also has a Master's degree from Union College and teaches English IV at Tennessee High. He lives in Bristol with his wife Lesley and two dogs. Coach Tiller thinks this group has lots of potential and is looking forward to seeing what they can accomplish.


Courtney Anderson
Assistant Coach/Junior Varsity Head Coach

Coach Courtney Anderson returns for her third year on the Lady Viking coaching staff. Coach Anderson is the head coach of the Junior Varsity team and a varsity assistant. She was the 9th grade coach for one year and also coached for the Northeast Tennessee Volleyball Club. Coach Anderson is a Tennessee High school graduate and a former Lady Viking volleyball player. She continued her education at ETSU and is now a Special Education teacher at Tennessee High. Coach Anderson is excited to see what this season has in store.


Ashton Rosenboro
Assistant Coach/Freshman Team Head Coach

Coach Ashton Rosenboro is new to the Lady Viking Volleyball staff this year and is serving as the head coach of the freshman team and a varsity assistant. Coach Rose graduated from THS in 2013.and played softball and volleyball while in high school. She continued her education at East Tennessee State University, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Family Studies. She plans to further her education in 2019 pursuing Master’s in Education. She currently works at Holston View Elementary where she is the computer lab/STEM teacher and oversees the HelpDesk. She is very excited to start this new journey and work with great group of young ladies in our program this year.
