Today, the city of Bristol, Virginia, announced a new partnership with Boyd Sports to build a facility for the Bristol State Liners. After many ups and downs in our shared efforts toward a new stadium, we understand this news may feel disappointing to some. While we had communicated to the city of Bristol, Tennessee, our continued commitment to the project as recently as yesterday, ultimately, we believe this new direction is the best course for our baseball program and for our students. Moving forward, this allows us to focus solely on what is in the best interest of our teams and our athletes, without the constraints of outside entities.

Throughout our discussions with the City of Bristol, Tennessee, our priority has consistently been ensuring that any facility meets the needs of Tennessee High student-athletes first. As was mentioned in the City of Bristol, Tennessee’s public statement, this included advocating for equitable locker room space for our teams that is comparable to other sports—something we even offered to fund to reduce the burden on the project.

Please know that we remain firmly dedicated to meeting the facility needs of Tennessee High Baseball, and we hope the city remains committed to creating top-tier facilities for our students. We thank the community for their continued support!
