Students in Ms. English's business and marketing classes were presented with the opportunity to compete in Business Battle 2026. The contest is a part of "Career Quest - It's all About Business" which is sponsored by the First Tennessee Development District as well as a few local businesses.
Students began by submitting their business plans in the preliminary round of competition. Twelve students were selected to move on to the final round and present their business ideas to a panel of "sharks" modeled after the popular TV show, Shark Tank. Their ideas ranged from web design services and mobile car detailing to gluten-free desserts, crocheted items, and grocery delivery services. They created business plans for junk removal services, care packages for college students, and sports card trading services. The judges were very impressed with all of their ideas and encouraged them to dream big and pursue their entrepreneurial ideas!
The competition was tough, with several northeast Tennessee high schools competing, and THS was proud to bring home a 2nd place finish this year. Nancy Smith won $1,000.00 for her business plan proposal of On Cue Beauty Co as an up-and-coming business.
