BTCS schools are closed tomorrow, November 5, for election day. Schools will return to a regular schedule on Wednesday, November 6.
Next week, student council will kick off its annual Thanksgiving Basket Drive. It will last from Nov. 6 to Nov. 14, and money will be collected during first period classes. Remember your donations go toward supporting local families during the Thanksgiving season.
To kick off the drive, we will have three dress-up days! We hope you'll join in on the fun.
Parents of juniors: Join us November 7 at 5:30 pm in the THS Auditorium for an 11th Grade Night. Topics of discussion include college & career planning, college applications, financial aid, and senior year opportunities.
Join us Wednesday for the Civinettes’ Trunk or Treat Family Fun Festival. The event includes face painting, food trucks, and a cake walk. It will take place on October 30th from 3:45 PM to 6 PM for grades K-5 in the Tennessee High School senior parking lot at 1112 Edgemont Ave.
The Civinettes will take on Anchor in the 2024 Powderpuff game tomorrow night at 6:30. Entry fee is $5. All proceeds will go to the Johnia Berry Toy Drive, supporting local children. We hope to see you there!
The Might Viking Players are back with their Haunted Tours! Join them after dark as they take you down the creepy halls of THS. Tours will begin at 7 pm, and you may enter at the front entrance or door 11 on Southside Ave.
Senior Parents: FAFSA Night Cancelled:
Unfortunately, the FAFSA Night event scheduled for October 28th has been cancelled.
Here is what you need to know about FAFSA right now:
• It is expected to open on December 1st.
• Early Grads: Go ahead and complete it. Create your FSA ID and submit your FAFSA.
• FAFSA is required for TN Promise, Lottery Scholarships, and other scholarships, grants, and financial aid.

Seniors: On October 23, you will take the ACT WorkKeys test. The results of this test can be applied to your total points for Work Ethic Distinction.
The WorkKeys assessments measure foundational skills required for success in the workplace, and help measure the workplace skills that can affect job performance.
The 9th Grade Parent Night has been rescheduled for November 6th at 5:30 pm and will take place in the THS Auditorium. Breakout session topics include Financial Aid Opportunities, Supporting Your Child Through High School, and Post-Secondary Planning. We hope to you there!
Students’ final Q1 grades are now available on Powerschool.
Join us for the 2024 Homecoming Parade & Bonfire. The parade will start at 6 pm, followed by activities and food trucks at 6:30 pm. The lighting of the fire will take place at 7:30 pm.

BTCS proudly announces a new staff member who will be joining Tennessee High School’s Viking Academy by January 2025. Welcome Jingle, the first official Therapy Dog in BTCS. Jingle is a 10-week-old goldendoodle who was born on July 19, 2024.
Jingle is a cheerful girl with a bouncy step and a wagging tail. Her joyful spirit is infectious and is sure to bring smiles wherever she goes. She loves playing with squeaky toys and can often be found chasing after them with boundless enthusiasm.
