On Tuesday, September 22, seniors will take an official ACT test during regular school hours. Since the exam format is paper/pencil, both remote and on-site learners will need to report to THS by 7:30 am. Students will test in small groups and only with peers on the same path. Underclassmen, faculty, staff, and administrative photos will be taken Sept 29 (A-L) and Oct 2 (M-Z).

Distance learners will be able to drop in on their assigned days. More details to follow.

FCA meets on Mondays after school in the auditorium

Attention NHS Seniors - We are accepting nominations for NHS officers from today until Thursday, September 17th.  NHS Officers must be senior members in good standing.  They will hold responsibilities for speaking at the NHS / Beta induction ceremony in November, as well as planning future community service activities and communicating those to the group. You may make one nomination at this google form: We will take nominations and create a ballot, which will be available from Friday, September 18th until Friday, September 25th. 

All books checked out during last school year will be renewed and have a due date of September 30.  All fines before this date have been removed.  Fines will begin accruing once again beginning October 1, so to avoid fines, books from last year MUST BE TURNED IN DURING THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER.

Anyone interested in joining "The Viking Players," Tennessee High's Drama Club, please email Mrs. Davis and let her know you would like to be included in the informational meeting.

Beta Club:  Invitations for new members to join were sent to homes in the mail on Tuesday.  Juniors and seniors (who didn’t join last year) with a total numeric average of 93 or above should receive invitations. If you did not receive an invitation and believe that you should have, please stop by the library or email Mrs. Sauceman ( or Ms. Hayes (

ALL grade level class officer, along with Junior and Senior Court, applications are now available in homeroom announcements on Canvas.  Applications are due 9/15/2020.

LEAPs Afterschool Program will begin on Tuesday September 8. 

Any girl interested in playing basketball that is NOT in a fall sport is invited to participate in preseason. Please email Coach Bright at for more information. Workouts start next week.

Senior photos:  The last day to have a senior photo made is Sept. 8 (A-L) and Sept. 10 (M-Z).  If you do not have your photo made at this time, you will not be in the yearbook.  Please be sure you have your formal (drape/tux) photo made. Seniors will be called alphabetically to Viking Hall for photos and will need to practice social distancing and wear a mask.  Seniors will not be required to wear a mask for photos.  The sitting fee cost is ($25.00 – cash/check payable) to Lifetouch. Senior distance learners may drop in (A-L) Sept. 8, from 9:00-1:30; M-Z Sept. 10, 9:00-1:30.  You will need to check in at the office, have a temperature check, and wear a mask.  No one may accompany seniors to the photo shoot.
