Weeklong Competition

Is it your Destiny to Win Free Stuff?:  Submit your best science-fiction short story to Mrs. Sauceman ( or Ms. Hayes ( by Friday (10/26) at 2:30 for your chance to win a Kindle or an external DVD player!


Total Eclipse of the Trivia: Stop by the library and test your astronomical knowledge (sci-fi,

mythology, scientific, etc) and win a stellar treat!


Teachers Rock our World:  All teachers and staff are invited to stop by the library for donuts and coffee. Make sure to put your name down for our drawing for an external DVD drive. We'll be giving away 10!


Out of this World Character Dress Up Dress like your favorite character, and drop by the library to receive a delicious treat.


Universally Popular Collaborative Crossword: Shine like the star you are by visiting the library to solve one of our literary clues...and win a tasty treat.


Moonwalk and Read Challenge: Can you moonwalk? Can you read aloud? Can you moonwalk while you read aloud? If so, come in and show us how it's done. Your multitasking will be rewarded with (you guessed it) an edible treat!

  • Jostens will be back on October 24th during all lunches in the cafeteria .  Please bring your completed order form and deposit for your graduation supplies.  Extra forms will be in the Guidance Office.
  • Flu Vaccine Clinic for THS will be held on Monday October 29, 2018 from 7:30am to 9:00 am for those students that turned in their permission forms.  If they did not turn in the form they will not be allowed to receive the vaccine.

  • Club photos and Junior Court photos will be taken on October 25. Everyone will need the club rosters.
  • The practice SAT, the PSAT, will be given at THS on Wednesday, October 24th during first and second period in the wellness rooms. Any junior interested in taking this college entrance exam please bring $16.00 into the counseling office as soon as possible. The PSAT is the qualifying test that students must take in their junior year to enter the National Merit Scholarship Competitions for college scholarships that will be awarded in 2019. Although the test is aimed at students in the 11th grade, sophomores are encouraged to take it as practice for their junior year. To register please bring cash or a check made out to Tennessee High School into the counseling office as soon as possible. Spaces are limited please don’t hesitate to sign up.
  • WELCOME!  Welcome!  Please come to Wellness room 2447 every Wednesday morning from 7:00 – 7:15 a.m. for an encouraging club meeting:  First Priority.  All are WELCOME!  Yes, that’s you.  (We often serve food, too.)
  • The LEAPs after-school program is now open for students!  Hours of operation are from 2:30 PM-5:30 PM daily.  Students should report to the Wellness room (#2447) and report to Mr. Andrew Cross.  THS will offer several after-school activities/clubs that are available to students through the LEAPs grant.  Starting dates and further information for those actives and clubs will be given at a later date.  If interested in joining an after-school activity or club, please contact with Mr. Andrew Cross for further details.
  • ACT ACADEMY by Mrs. Sutherland  will be on WONDERFUL Wednesdays in the THS Library after school from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. We will PRACTICE ACT questions and discuss all things ACT.  (It used to be on Thursdays, but it’s now Wednesdays to permit percussion and THS band to come….so show up!).

  • Tennessee High Wrestling Season begins October 29th.  All wrestlers must have a Sports Physical and Health Data Form completed before they can practice.  Forms can be picked up at the Athletic’s Office in Viking Hall from Patty Feathers.  Girls and Boys interested in wrestling can contact Coach Marshall (423) 340-1900,, or on campus Coach Goodman in room 1140,
