  • Any boys interested in playing Volleyball this year there will be a meeting on Tuesday, October 26 with Coach Goodman in room #1140 during VikingTime.
  • REMINDER: TN High Counseling Office will be hosting a FAFSA Help Night for all senior parents and students. A representative from ETSU, TCAT, MTSU, UTC, King, Northeast State, and Tusculum will be here to answer questions AND assist you in completing the FAFSA! This will take place on Tuesday October 26th at 5:30 PM in the TN High Auditorium. There will time to talk to the college representatives, a short overview presentation of the FAFSA, and then time to complete the FAFSA! Please bring a laptop, 2020 Income Tax information, and other personal information such as phone number, email, and social security numbers. Please see your THS school counselor if you have any questions.
  • BASKETBALL SEASON MAROON CREW SHIRTS: Every student section in our conference will wear their school t-shirt to all conference games. If you wear your Maroon Crew t-shirt to away conference games,  you will be able to get in the game for $2. This is a way for each school to show school spirit and pride.

    Maroon Crew shirts will be sold during all 3 lunches at THS, in the cafeteria, starting October 25th and running until November 15th. The cost is $12. Cash or check only.

    All students who would like to buy a shirt are encouraged to do so.

  • Attention, all current and new Civinette members: There will be a meeting on Thursday, Oct. 21, in Mrs. Kitzmiller’s room (1216), during Viking Time. Please check in with your homeroom teacher first.
  • ACT BOOT CAMP
    What?  ACT BOOT CAMP
    Dates?  Monday-Thursday (October 18-21)
    Time? 4 – 6 pm
    Where? the picnic tables (or in Mr. Graham’s art room or library, if it’s too cold or windy)
    Why?  ACT for seniors on Tuesday AND a national Saturday ACT on October 23Who? All are invited, even freshmen and sophomores, but especially seniors and juniors who are focused on raising ACT scores
  • During Viking Time, SENIOR HOMEROOMS will be going to the cafeteria to get ready for the Tuesday ACT in Viking Hall during Viking Time.  It will be the world’s shortest ACT Boot Camp.   Here’s the list:

  • Friday, October 15:  McMeans, Semones, Slone, Parker, Taylor, Neal Phillips
  • Monday, October 18: Shipley, Sauceman, Richardson, Cross, Singleton, Amber Davis
  • Attention all current high achieving 10 and 11 grade students: The Tennessee Governor's Schools applications are now available. Governor’s School provides eleven challenging and high-intensity programs for rising 11th and 12th grade students over summer break. Students interested in participating in a Governor's School should obtain the application from THS school counselor, Leslie Skeens. Applications, and submission information will be posted on the webpages of each individual Governor’s Schools site. Art Governor School applications are due to Mrs. Skeens prior to Thanksgiving break and all other Governor School applications are due prior to Christmas break.

  • ATTENTION SENIORS: FAFSA is now open for seniors to fill out for the 2022-2023 school year. Go to: https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa.

    https://www.etsu.edu/financial-aid-and-scholarships/fatv.php. If you plan to go to ANY college/university or TCAT, you MUST fill out the FAFSA. The deadline to fill out the FAFSA and stay eligible for TN Promise is February 1st, 2022. However, fill out the FAFSA as soon as you can to ensure you receive any federal aid or scholarships you might qualify for. See your THS counselor if you need help. 

  • We desperately need some 9th and 10th graders for the Upward Bound program. If you are a student who would be the first member of your family to attend college and who could use some additional academic support, this would be a great opportunity for you. Upward Bound will give you help in school and some real fun experiences on ETSU’s campus over the summers. You can also get paid for participating. Applications are in the counseling office and are due October 18th. Please come to the counseling office for an application.
  • Volunteer Opportunity:  The YWCA is seeking student volunteers to work the Turkey Trot 5K on November 20th. Interested students should email [email protected] for more information.
  • Attention Seniors: The ETSU Roan Scholarship Application is now open.   For more information or to apply visit the scholarship tab on the school webpage.
  • SENIORS: On Tuesday, October 19, you will take the ACT test during regular school hours. This is your chance to take the test in a familiar and less-stressful environment, complete a big part of the college application process, and find out more about your path after high school.
  • After school strength and conditioning for wrestling will be Monday through Thursday.  If you are interested in wrestling you are encouraged to attend.  If you have any questions speak with Coach Shuler.
