  • Beta Club will be sponsoring a picture book drive for Bristol Early Head Start and Head Start from 12/2-13.  Students can donate gently used picture books through their first period teachers. The top two first period classes based on donations (total donations and percentage of books to students) will be treated to breakfast during the last week of the semester.  
  • There will be NO LEAPs Afterschool Program on Monday 11/25/19 or Tuesday 11/26/19.
     
  • Please bring Shoes, gently used, to Mrs. Sutherland in room 3414.  First Priority is sending shoes to Africa.  TENNIS SHOES?  Yes!  Sandals?  Yes!  Kids’ shoes?  Yes!  No high heels, please.  Questions?  Ask Topher Emerine, Corey Smith, Seth Emerine, Logan Smith, Ennelisa Sutton, or any First Priority student…or Mrs. Sutherland. 
     
  • Rachel’s Challenge is sponsoring a Christmas Card initiative:  cards for your bus drivers, the THS custodial staff, and the cafeteria ladies.  Would you like to compose a sweet, encouraging card?  Come see Mrs. Sutherland in 3414 OR any Rachel’s Challenge member.  We want to deliver them in December. 
     
  • Auditions for Xanadu will be Monday after school in the auditorium. Call backs will be Tuesday in the auditorium, NOT at the skating rink. Again, auditions for Xanadu will be in the auditorium Monday, with call backs on Tuesday - also in the auditorium.
  • The THS Winter Guard will be holding practices and auditions for the 2019-2020 winter season Tuesday, November 19, through Friday, November 22, from 5-7 pm. Auditions will take place in the THS Band Room. No experience is necessary. Please wear athletic clothes. For any questions, please see Mr. Semones.

  • The YWCA is having a Turkey Trot Saturday, November 23rd. If there are any students who need volunteer hours, we could use their help! If you are interested please emailkserrano@ywcatnva.org or kateelaserrano@gmail.com and advise of your interest.
     
  • LSF Announcement : We are collecting money for Thanksgiving Baskets, so please bring your donations to Madame Toby!  Merci, thank you!

  • Attention 10th and 11th grade honors’ students the 2020 Tennessee Governor's Schools applications are now available online. The Tennessee Governor's Schools provide eleven challenging and high-intensity summer programs for rising 11th and 12th grade students nominated by high school faculty. Students interested in participating in a Governor's Schools program should speak to Mrs. Skeens in the counseling office. Applications for the 2020 Tennessee Governor’s Schools will be available online from Sept. 1 to Dec. 1, 2019 but all materials will need to be submitted online by November 18th and verification provided to Mrs. Skeens by November 18th . 

  • For all the breakfast locations, students can use their meal accounts or by using cash.  You can purchase a breakfast, snack items, drinks, or add funds to your account.    We hope to serve you Breakfast on the Go!!

  • Littlest Angel Child Care Center at Avoca Christian Church is looking for ONE volunteer per day to help with Avoca Elementary children’s homework in the after-school child care from 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm. You can earn volunteer hours.  You can volunteer only one day a week if you wish. Are you interested?  See Mrs. Sutherland in room 3414.

  • ACT Boot Camps Preceding the Dec. 14, 2019 ACT National Saturday: Camp will be held Monday-Thursday, December 9-12, 5:30 – 7:30 pm. All are welcome.  Bring calculator and pencil.
