  • Civinettes will meet today, Thursday, May 9, during Viking TIme in Mrs. Bittinger's room.
  • Senior portraits will be taken at THS on May 29-31.  Students will have an appointment time that they received during homeroom. If you have any questions, contact Lifetouch at 764-3778. 
  • There will be an interest meeting for the Viking Motorcycle Club this Thursday afternoon, May 9th in Mr. Strickland’s room (3418) directly after school. If you are the slightest bit interested in two-wheeled motorized machines, this club’s for you! Any student or teacher may attend.
  • Anyone interested in playing girls basketball next year there will be spring practice starting this Wednesday, May 8.  It will be at 2:45-4:30. See Coach Bright is you have any questions. 
  • The Marsh Regional Blood Drive is tomorrow, Tuesday, May 7.  Students:  you must be at least 17-years-old and weigh at least 110 lbs. to donate.  Please bring a photo ID and signed permission form tomorrow.  All students must have a signed permission form even if you are 18-years-old.  Please see Mrs. Phillips in room 2114 to sign up or if you have any questions.
  • The last day of THS LEAPs Afterschool Program will be Wednesday May 22, 2019. 
  • This year, THS will be offering a shuttle service during graduation.  Two shuttles (buses) will run every 10-12 minutes beginning at 6 pm and ending at the start of graduation.  They will also run after graduation until 10 pm.  Shuttle pick-up locations (parking locations) include HAYNESFIELD ELEMENTARY (Parking lot behind the school and along Edgemont Ave), VANCE MIDDLE SCHOOL (Parking lot beside the gym),  BTCS ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES (Parking lot off Alabama St), BRISTOL MUNICIPAL PARKING LOT (Parking lot off Anderson St/Shelby St).   
  • The 2019 Anderson PTA Scholarship is now open! If you are a senior who attended Anderson and would like to apply for this scholarship please see Mrs. Slagle in the Counseling Office to get an application!
  • Seniors taking the AP English Literature exam are encouraged to attend daily review sessions immediately after school in Mr. Davis' room, 3420. These tutorials will take place from Monday, April 29 through Tuesday, May 7. They will begin at 2:35 and end at 2:55.
  • Any rising sophomore, junior, or senior female student interested in joining Civinettes may now pick up an application in the office, Mrs. Bittinger’s room (3406), or Mrs. Kitzmiller’s room (1216). Completed applications and teacher recommendations are due to Mrs. Bittinger, Mrs. Kitzmiller, or Ms. Anderson by May 6. Please see a club sponsor for any questions.
  • Seniors, please turn in your Graduation Behavior Agreements as soon as possible.  The deadline is Friday, May 3, and you will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony if that is not on file.
  • The Class of 2019 is cordially invited to attend the Sullivan County Baccalaureate Service, May 14, 7:00 p.m., at Sunnyside Baptist Church, 406 Cooks Valley Road, Kingsport, TN.  A brochure containing information concerning the Baccalaureate Service will be available in the Guidance Office. 
  • Sports Physicals for the 2019-2020 school year will be given at Virginia High on Saturday, May 11th.  The designated time for THS & VMS students is 8:00am - 9:00am.  To receive a physical, students must have a TSSAA Physical Form with the front page completed and signed by a parent/guardian.  TSSAA Physical Forms can be picked up in the THS Athletic Office, VMS Main Office or be downloaded at www.tssaa.org.  Forms will also be available at Virginia High if needed.  The cost is $10 cash.  No checks will be accepted.
  • Seniors! Don't forget to check the Counseling Office's website for information regarding scholarships and awards to help pay for college. The scholarship site is updated multiple times each week with new opportunities!
  • Several AP courses will have exam review sessions during Viking Time.  Please see the announcement posted on your homeroom Canvas page for more details.
  • Students, your laptop must be carried in your school-issued backpack. Students found carrying their device in other backpacks, will have their device confiscated.
  • The library now has 5 Wi-Fi hotspots for checkout.  These will provide free Wi-Fi to your electronic devices, which comes in handy if you don’t have Wi-Fi at home or need to work on your computer during a long car ride or even if you just want to spend the afternoon doing some homework in the park.  The checkout period is three school days.  Stop by the library, and see Ms. Hayes or Mrs. Sauceman if you are interested in checking one out or have questions.
  • Parents, students, and teachers: You can now sign up for PTSA online. Visit https://ths.memberhub.store/ to sign up today!
  • Students please download the Viking Nation App and check in each morning for points to win free gifts.
  • ACT Prep Academy with Mrs. Sutherland --Meet in the THS Library lab after school Wednesdays from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. No ACT Prep Academy during Mid-term Exams, Spring Break, or Final Exams.
  • Upcoming ACT test dates National Saturdays:  June 15, and July 13
  • First Priority meets every Wednesday morning in Wellness room 2447 at 7:00 a.m.  You’re invited to join us to follow the H.O.P.E. cycle. Wednesday, January 9, 2019 is the HELP week. We’d love to have your presence at 7:00!  First Priority will also begin meeting every Wednesday afternoon in the THS library lab room from 2:35 – 3:00 p.m. (or later).  This is a more relaxed, conversational time.  Some days we will linger and eat pizza.  All afternoons will STILL FOLLOW the cycle:  H.O.P.E.  We will start this after school on January 9, 2019.
