  • French Club members, remember that next Wednesday is our rescheduled Christmas party at Blackbird Bakery from 5 pm-6 pm.  We are now calling it our New Year celebration!  Croissants will be provided. 

  • The THS Counseling Office will be hosting a Junior Parent Meeting for current juniors and their parents on Thursday, January 17th at 5:30 PM in the THS Auditorium. This meeting will cover several topics from college, ACT, courses to take at THS, etc. Please join us and get ready for the next school year.

  • Attention all Seniors and their Parents: THS Counselors will be hosting a Financial Aid Information and FAFSA completion event on Thursday, January 17th at 6:30 pm in the THS Auditorium. The deadline for the TN Promise FAFSA completion is only days away. If you have not completed your FAFSA please plan on attending this event.

  • THS’s Mighty Viking Cadets will compete in the 22nd Annual Daniel Boone Invitational Drill Meet held this Saturday, January, 19th at Daniel Boone High School from 8:00am to 2:00pm.  Cadets will compete in squad drill and color guard competitions. Please give them a word of encouragement this week!
     
  • All Criminal Justice Students from Fall Semester may go by Ms. Rollins’s classroom to get their work folders and binders from last semester. She would like all old material to be picked up by this Friday.
  • Attention Students:  The THS Cafeteria is now selling flavored coffees.  This will be available to students.  Enjoy a freshly brewed coffee, with an added flavor of your choice, during breakfast or lunch.

  • NHS Members:  Please attend a meeting in the auditorium on Tuesday, January 15th during Viking Time.  If you signed up to create inspirational quote art work, please bring this to the meeting.  We will be passing out envelopes for PuraVida bracelets, which you will each be responsible for selling by Friday, February 1st.

  • The last day to order a yearbook is February 15.  Yearbooks may be ordered at jostensyearbooks.com.

  • The Tennessee High track and field team will have an organizational meeting on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, immediately after school in the auditorium.  This meeting should last about 30 minutes.  This meeting is for anyone interested in running track and NOT participating in a winter sport.  If you are participating in a winter sport please let Coach Irvin know that you plan on participating in track. No food or drinks are allowed in the auditorium.  Please bring something to write with.

  • Seniors can now submit pictures for the Senior Memory Video.  Each senior should email two digital pictures to Mrs. Sauceman by March 1.  Her email is saucemanb@btcs.org. Formal yearbook photos will automatically be included.

  • The Science Bowl team will have a brief meeting in Mr. Reece’s classroom after school on Monday, January 14.

  • Auditions for our spring musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee will happen on Wednesday January 9th, with call-backs on January 10th. Please see either Mrs. Davis OR Mr. Whitson for an audition packet.

  • Any student who needs a new hat, gloves, or scarf please see your counselor.

  • ACT Prep Academy with Mrs. Sutherland --Meet in the THS Library lab after school Wednesdays from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. No ACT Prep Academy during Mid-term Exams, Spring Break, or Final Exams.

  • Upcoming ACT test dates
    National Saturdays:  Feb. 8, April 13, June 15, and July 13
    Juniors only, ACT Tuesday, March 26

  • ACT Boot Camp will be held February 4, 5, 6, 7, which is Monday through Thursday. It will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm nightly in the wellness room.

  • ACT Boot Camp for Juniors Only will be held Monday, March 25 from 3:00-5:00 pm in preparation for the junior test the next day.

  • First Priority meets every Wednesday morning in Wellness room 2447 at 7:00 a.m.  You’re invited to join us to follow the H.O.P.E. cycle. Wednesday, January 9, 2019 is the HELP week. We’d love to have your presence at 7:00!  First Priority will also begin meeting every Wednesday afternoon in the THS library lab room from 2:35 – 3:00 p.m. (or later).  This is a more relaxed, conversational time.  Some days we will linger and eat pizza.  All afternoons will STILL FOLLOW the cycle:  H.O.P.E.  We will start this after school on January 9, 2019.
