  • The last day to submit entries for the writing contest is Friday, March 1.  Please have all entries emailed to Mr. Snyder at snydera@btcs.org with the subject line as "Writing Contest Entry." 
  • Please note that beginning 2/20 we will not be able to refund any money lost in the vending machines. If you choose to use the machines, you are accepting the risk of losing whatever amount you have inserted in the machines. 
  • Yearbook application for 2019-2020 staff are due to Mrs. Vickers by Feb. 28.
  • French Club is hosting a Mardi Gras event for all World Language clubs on Tuesday, March 5th during Viking Time!!  World Language Club sponsors, please RVSP to Mme. Toby if you plan on bringing your club members to the event which will be held in Mme. Toby’s room.
  • Also, French Club members, be sure to bring $2 to Mme. Toby by Wednesday, February 27th for the King’s Cake!  Merci, thank you.
  • Students, your laptop must be carried in your school-issued backpack. Students found carrying their device in other backpacks, will have their device confiscated.
  • The library now has 5 Wi-Fi hotspots for checkout in the library.  These will provide free Wi-Fi to your electronic devices, which comes in handy if you don’t have Wi-Fi at home or need to work on your computer during a long car ride or even if you just want to spend the afternoon doing some homework in the park.  The checkout period is three school days.  Stop by the library, and see Ms. Hayes or Mrs. Sauceman if you are interested in checking one out or have questions.
  • During the month of February, Ms. Vance and Ms. Anderson’s classes will be sponsoring a Hospital Drive! This drive is for families of Bristol Regional Medical Center. They will be taking up items to make goodie bags for families waiting for a member of their family to recover from surgery, in ICU waiting room, etc... Examples of items that can be brought in : crackers, Little Debbie Cakes, Individual size bags of chips, bite size candy, pocket size puzzle books, small tissues packs, gallon size baggies, pens, small hand sanitizers, individual size bags of cookies Cheez-itz, etc...The homeroom that provides the MOST items will win a pizza party!!!!!!!  Please let them know when your students have brought in items. Ms. Vance’s class or Mrs. Anderson's class will be picking up items on Thursday and Friday of each week!! This drive will last until March 1st.
  • The YWCA will be having their prom dress sale on March 1st 2:00pm to 6:00pm and March 2nd 9:00am to 5:00pm at the YWCA, 106 State Street, Bristol, TN.  All dresses are $25.00.  Donations may be dropped off at the reception desk of the YWCA.  Contact Tammy Alls for more information or to volunteer:  thenkel@ywcatnva.org or 423-968-9444.
  • Attention Students:  The THS Cafeteria is now selling flavored coffees.  This will be available to students.  Enjoy a freshly brewed coffee, with an added flavor of your choice, during breakfast or lunch.
  • Seniors can now submit pictures for the Senior Memory Video.  Each senior should email two digital pictures to Mrs. Sauceman by March 1.  Her email is saucemanb@btcs.org. Formal yearbook photos will automatically be included.
  • Any student who needs a new hat, gloves, or scarf please see your counselor.
  • Parents, students, and teachers: You can now sign up for PTSA online. Visit https://ths.memberhub.store/ to sign up today!
  • Students please download the Viking Nation App and check in each morning for points to win free gifts.
  • Students may still order photos online using the code AA508009Y0.
  • ACT Prep Academy with Mrs. Sutherland --Meet in the THS Library lab after school Wednesdays from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. No ACT Prep Academy during Mid-term Exams, Spring Break, or Final Exams.
  • Upcoming ACT test dates National Saturdays:  Feb. 8, April 13, June 15, and July 13 Juniors only, ACT Tuesday, March 26
  • ACT Boot Camp for Juniors Only will be held Monday, March 25 from 3:00-5:00 pm in preparation for the junior test the next day.
  • First Priority meets every Wednesday morning in Wellness room 2447 at 7:00 a.m.  You’re invited to join us to follow the H.O.P.E. cycle. Wednesday, January 9, 2019 is the HELP week. We’d love to have your presence at 7:00!  First Priority will also begin meeting every Wednesday afternoon in the THS library lab room from 2:35 – 3:00 p.m. (or later).  This is a more relaxed, conversational time.  Some days we will linger and eat pizza.  All afternoons will STILL FOLLOW the cycle:  H.O.P.E.  We will start this after school on January 9, 2019.
