  • Summer reading tests will be given during homeroom on Friday, August 9.  Students who pass will be invited to the Summer Reading Celebration, which will take place on August 22 in the Stone Castle. 
  • Volunteers are needed to collect money for parking during the Rhythm and Roots Festival. This year the dates are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 20, 21 and 22. The Bristol Historic Association has the use of five downtown lots for paid parking during those three days. Volunteers are usually scheduled for four hour time slots on one, two or three of those days (volunteer’s choice).  Any questions? Contact Isabelle Ladd, 423-764- 2744. She will need to have any names by the first of September in order to draw up a schedule for those volunteering. 
  • New Dismissal Procedure THS: Please note the following change in afternoon bus and car dismissal at Tennessee High School. In order to assist with traffic flow at Vance Middle School, all afternoon bus pick-up at Tennessee High will now take place in the back of the school on Southside Avenue. Therefore, all afternoon car riders must be picked up in front of the school. All bus numbers and load numbers will stay the same. Morning drop-off will not change. 
  • The LAST opportunity for senior photos is Aug. 15, in Viking Hall.  The sitting fee is $25.00 (cash, check, or credit card). If seniors do not have their photos made by this date, they will not be pictured in the yearbook.  Any senior who desires a re-take should bring his/her proofs to the photographer that day to avoid  the sitting fee.
  • Aug 13th from 11-1 will be the next date for parents to come to the school and complete the necessary steps for their student to receive a laptop.
  • If you checked out a summer reading book from the library, please return it asap.
  • We will not be able to refund any money lost in the vending machines. If you choose to purchase food or drinks you are taking the risk of losing whatever amount you have inserted in the machines.
  • THS Robotics will meet on Tuesday, Aug 13th after school in Mrs. Givney's room, 1138.  Any student interested in joining robotics for this school year is encouraged to attend.   If you cannot make the meeting,  you must see Mrs. Givney to let her know you are interested.
  • There will be an informational soccer meeting for all boys interested in playing soccer on Wednesday August 14 at 2:45 in Coach Snyder's room (3421). This meeting is mandatory for all current and future soccer players. If you cannot make the meeting, please see or email Coach Snyder.
  • There will be a meeting on Tuesday, August 13, for all students who are interested in joining Drama Club (Viking Players) this year! This club is open to any student who would like to participate in theatre, either on stage, or behind the scenes! The meeting will take place in Mrs.Davis' Theatre Arts room, 2447 - directly after school. This meeting is mandatory for all current club members and officers.
