There will be a meeting this Monday 8/26 at 6 pm in the pool area for anyone who is interested in swimming this season. It will be brief and parents are not required to come. Just for the athletes.

On September 17th, ETSU will be waiving their application fee
for admissions. This is a $25 savings! If you are interested in applying for the Roan Scholarship, it would be wise to wait until September 17th to apply to ETSU.  If you want to be added to the reminder list, stop by the Counseling Office to sign up.

Today, Thursday, August 29, 2019, Friends of Rachel will meet during Viking Time at the picnic tables to discuss the ongoing sticky note project. 

LSF, The TN High French Club is extending its enrollment through Tuesday, September 10th.  LSF is open to anyone who has completed 2 semesters of French and are currently enrolled. Please contact Ms. Toby if you are unable to come during Viking Time that day for the meeting so she can add you to the club roster. Club dues are $5 and the deadline for paying is Tuesday, September 24th, thank you, merci.

The last day to turn in flu vaccine forms will be Friday 8/30/2019.  If you have lost your form, a replacement can be printed off the school website or obtained in the clinic.  Also, without the Student Health Information form on file, students will not be administered any mediation including cough drops. 

V/T shirts will be on sale in the cafeteria during all 3 lunches. Price is $15.00. S-XL and $18.00 for above.

Any students interested in Wrestling this year please meet at the wrestling coaches office in Viking Hall after school at 2:45 Monday 8/26. Boys and Girls with or without wrestling experience are welcome.  Pre-season workouts will begin on Monday 8/26.

Mr. Goodman has an opportunity available for students to earn volunteer hours on 9/14 with Appalachian Service Project. No experience required and has the potential to earn 6-8 community service hours. Any who is interested should see Mr. Goodman in room #1140. He is also looking for teachers that would be willing to volunteer as well due to needing 1 adult per every 5 student volunteers. There will be additional opportunities in the future to volunteer with this organization if this date doesn’t work for you.

Are you interested in joining a Fencing Club? If so, come to the informational meeting on August 30th during Viking Time in Mrs. Bittinger's room 3406.

Senior ads submitted at THS are due Sept 13 to Mrs. Vickers. Jostens Online senior ads due Sept 30.

Students who have taken a STEM, Computer Science, or Digital Arts class that are interested in joining TSA should see Mrs. Del Gaudio ASAP. Students who participate in TSA have the opportunity to compete in coding, cyber security, robotics, engineering, and digital arts. Applications for TSA are due on Friday. Late applications will not be accepted.

We are excited to announce our first Parent Academy event! Parent Academy is designed to help parents and guardians navigate different topics and challenges that our students face.  Our first event, "PowerSchool & Canvas: Learning How to Use THS Tech" will teach families tips and tricks for using both PowerSchool and Canvas to help encourage communication and participation at home. If you have had trouble with accessing these platforms before, there will be experts in attendance that can help. Please bring your own technology (smart device or laptop) or  something to take notes with. If you have any questions you may contact Brittany Slagle or Holly Perdue. The event will start at 6:00pm on Wednesday, August 28th in the THS Auditorium.

If you checked out a summer reading book from the THS library, please return it ASAP.

We will not be able to refund any money lost in the vending machines. If you choose to purchase food or drinks you are taking the risk of losing whatever amount you have inserted in the machines.

Mrs. Sutherland’s ACT ACADEMY will be taught from 3:00 –4:00 pm on fourteen WONDERFUL Wednesdays in the THS Library after school. It’s FREE. We will PRACTICE ACT questions & discuss all things ACT. 

First Priority Club, We are meeting each Wednesday morning from 7:00 – 7:15 a.m. in room 2447, Mrs. Amber Davis’s room# 2447.

There will be a mandatory Robotics meeting next Monday 8/26 after school in Room 1138, Mrs. Givney's Room #1138.

Mandatory Softball Meeting on Monday, August 26th right after school (2:30) in the auditorium.  If you cannot attend please come by my office as soon as you can to get the information. 

Reminder: A fire can breakout with little or no warning. The more prepared you are, the safer you will be. Know your emergency evacuation routes at school and at home. Don’t forget to identify a secondary evacuation route in case your primary route is not available.
